Changed in power and appearance by their allegiance to the Sabbat, the Gangrel Antitribu are, if possible, even wilder and less comfortable with humanity than their Camarilla brethren. Often struggling to navigate cities and human society and prone to losing themselves in stalking and killing prey, it is rumored that their numbers are comparatively small due to being constantly in danger of losing what little humanity they have left and permanently forgetting that they are anything but a wild beast.
History
Like all the Antitribu clan variants, the Gangrel Antitribu arose after the Convention of Thorns marked the end of the Anarch Revolt and the beginning of modern sect history. Most of them joined in the hopes that the Sabbat, with its emphasis on vampiric nature and throwing off human morals, might be more tolerant of their desire to become bestial and hunt without human problems intruding upon them, and they have historically found this to be a good move. Sabbat territories tend to see the Gangrel Antitribu as one of their first lines of defense, as they are often in the wilderness just outside the city, a living ring of very hungry danger for anyone who wants to try to approach by unusual means. In fact, it is rumored that the danger of the shapeshifters lurking in the wilderness to savage vampires may be slightly inflated by being confused with attacks by Gangrel Antitribu (though not, one assumes, by anyone who has actually met a werewolf).
More recently, the Gangrel Antritribu have found themselves losing some political ground within their sect; the Coyote bloodline that so recently established itself seems to be more useful in many cases, with their ability to pass for human and function within city limits, and some Gangrel Antitribu have found it challenging not to be considered little more than useless cannon fodder. Nevertheless, the sect is glad of their skills when it comes time for blood and physical power...
Strongholds
Like their Camarilla counterparts, the Gangrel Antitribu are not centralized; they have no strongholds in particular, even in cities where they reside, and it is generally unlikely that more than one or two live in the same area, making it unnecessary to have a place capable of holding meetings. Most Gangrel Antitribu simply live in the wild, in their human or animal forms as they please, and use the powers of Protean to hide themselves from the sun during the day.
Advantages and Weaknesses
Advantages
The savage power of true animals is tapped by the Gangrel Antitribu, who above all others are able to reach out to the pure, untainted essence of the natural world. They have a great deal more strength and speed when they are not within city limits, as well as being able to unerringly find their way in such environments, but their true strength lies in their unshakable ability as hunters. Once a Gangrel Antitribu has gained something's scent, they can follow in roughly the right direction for almost any distance; only the interference of a full ocean between them and their prey can shake them off.
Disadvantages
The Gangrel Antitribu bargain was to trade away their humanity for the freedom to be beasts... and unfortunately, it worked a little better than they might have wanted it to. All Gangrel Antitribu find impersonating human beings challenging, with some finding it difficult or even downright impossible to do so convincingly. Clothing and other social niceties are generally uncomfortable and difficult to manage, speaking clearly and concisely takes a great deal of concentration, concepts that would be too complex for an animal sometimes have the same effect, and the Gangrel Antitribu is generally less quick-witted and capable of managing social encounters than even the most dim of human beings. Some particularly aged Gangrel Antitribu have lapsed into being able to speak only in single-word sentences or appear only in the outskirts areas of cities, finding everything else simply too hard to manage.
Gangrel Antitribu in DC
The only Gangrel Antitribu currently in residence is Max Hagen, who in spite of the deep discomfort of being in a city DC's size is attempting to gather reconnaissance information for his sect's inevitable attempt to retake the territory.
