Kuei-Jin merits refer to special skills, abilities, or aptitudes that are only exhibited by Kuei-Jin. They generally represent skills or powers unique to them because of their origin as the living dead feeding on the energies of the world, and many of them, if visible, immediately indicate that the user is probably supernatural in origin.
Some Kuei-Jin merits are even more specific, being most often manifested only by specific members of a particular dharma, although it is not always certain whether it is impossible for other Kuei-Jin to have these merits or simply very, very unusual.
General Kuei-Jin Merits
Eternal Cherry Blossoms: This Kuei-Jin is immune to the visible effects of being Yin imbalanced for too long; even when they rot, they do so tastefully.
Intellectual P'o: This Kuei-Jin is especially inclined toward intellectualism and learns quickly and easily.
Tenacious Spirit: This Kuei-Jin is a Yulan-jin and can swap bodies as needed while they attempt to fulfill their business (although they are still in danger of permanent death).
Tomb: This Kuei-Jin has a protected and permanent tomb for their body to rest in.
Dhampyr Merits
Chi Attunement: This dhampyr is especially closely connected to a type of chi and regains energy from it twice as quickly.
Dharmic Schooling: This dhampyr has had formal schooling in one of the dharmas and can recognize Kuei-Jin who belong to it.
