Memories: Leaving Paris is a scene from the Paris Chronicle featuring the characters Andres Lund and Casper Iversson. It depicts Casper suffering a breakdown when the Countess de Noailles leaves him.
Scene Summary
Casper staggers into his apartment and slides down the door after closing it, covering his face. He has cuts and scrapes on his face and arms and is crying. He recalls catching his girlfriend, Anne d'Arpajon, with another lover earlier tonight and remembers that Andres had warned him that she was seeing other people. He flashes back to apologizing to her, after which she insults him and breaks up with him while he begs her not to. Casper thinks back on his previous social mistakes, looking for how he might have caused the breakup.
Casper gets up and calls out to Andres, telling him that Anne has left him and that they will have to leave the city. Andres is lounging in front of the television and asks what happened, to which Casper replies that Anne called him to her estate for a date only to be with someone else when he arrived. Andres is alarmed by how upset Casper appears and grabs his shoulders to hold him up. He begins to try to comfort Casper, but Casper falls to his knees, screams, and hurls the coffee table against the wall, destroying it. Worried, Andres calls someone to ask for help getting Casper home as Casper continues to melt down in the background.
