Letter: Jean Claude to Ian is a crossover scene from the Milan Chronicle and New York Chronicle featuring Jean Claude Danut. It depicts Jean Claude claiming to have abused and killed Maeve Glaistig, taunting Ian Kross and inviting him to visit.

Scene Summary

Jean Claude sends a letter to Ventrue Ian Kross, telling him that he is excited to hear his name in court again since he had assumed that he died when Chicago fell to the Sabbat the way a good Prince should. He claims that it is lucky for everyone that he is alive and writes that he is glad to hear that Ian is talking about him, saying that the two of them are the only ones left to remember the recently-deceased Maeve Glaistig.

He goes on to call Ian lucky for having footage of himself and Maeve having sex, while he has only memories. He coyly describes some of these memories, claiming to have raped Maeve and then later killed her, and offers to share more details if Ian writes back to him. He invites Ian to visit him in Milan, saying that he cannot possibly do the subject justice in a letter.

A copy of the recording of Ian and Maeve is included.

JEAN CLAUDE: Msr. Kross,

How wonderful it is to hear your name about court once more; I thought of course that you were dead, lost to us when Chicago was destroyed. Much like the captain of a ship, I had always assumed a prince should fall with his city. But lucky for us that you have risen for now a third time, is it? The fates do favor us all, to keep you safe where so many others were lost.

No, my friend, it is very lovely to hear your name, and lovelier still that it is apparently me you speak of. Lovely and strange, like so much I adore. I would not think to hear my name from your lips and here we are. The two of us, together: what remains of before. We are all that is left to remember her now.

Well… Aside from your gift, of course. Again, lady Luck has seen fit to favor you above so many others. While you have such wonderful souvenirs of your love, I only have my memories to fill the lonely nights without my songbird. But such memories, Msr. Kross.

Would you like to know what she sounded like when I fucked her for the first time?

Would you like to know what she sounded like when I killed her?

Much the same, actually. I am sorry to spoil the ending. It is the journey, not the destination, however. There were certainly memorable parts along the way. I will cherish them, always, these pieces of her that are mine and mine alone. I would share some with you, if you would like. You do seem to want to know so very much about me.

And there is so very much I could tell you. I feel as though a letter could not possibly be enough. Please, my friend, accept my warmest invitation to visit me in Milan. My father’s court welcomes you with open arms, as do I. I wish for nothing more than to kiss your cheek and tell you all you wish to ever know.

Your dearest friend,

Jean Claude Danut

Trivia

  • Jean Claude is lying about many of his claims in this letter; while he and Maeve lived together for several months, he did not sexually abuse her, nor did he kill her.

  • This is the second time Jean Claude has falsely claimed to have raped Maeve in order to upset Ian; the first was in KE Party: Pose for the Cameras Now, Click Click Click.

  • The recording is a DVD of Ian and Maeve having sex, circulated to the public by Vanessa Keasley in Chicago.
