Angelique Stravinsky
Clan: Toreador
Age: Ancilla
Sire: Dmitri Karolev
Childer: Wayland Smith
Status: Acknowledged, Known
Position: Lesser Harpy of Washington DC

Angelique is a perfect portrait of the stereotypical Russian ballerina: blonde, delicate, pale, slender, with long legs and an arched neck that lend her an unconscious, wafting grace, even when she is only walking from place to place or sitting and listening to someone else. She has a faint Russian accent as well, a legacy of her childhood in the east, and while she has significant influence as a Lesser Harpy, she seems more interested in affairs of the heart than in anything so dull and passionless as Kindred politics.

Mortal Life

Renamed Angelique so that her name would sound more French than the original (Anzhelina) in order to further her career, Angelique had progressed through ballet school and was dreaming of a future dancing for the royal family when the Russian Revolution broke and shattered the country. Her profession instantly became an artistic "luxury" to be forgotten about in wartime, and, lacking any other career skills, she was forced to move back in with her family to avoid starving to death.

To make matters worse, her family was staunchly pro-royals, and sided against the Communist movement, frequently placing them in danger from former friends and neighbors who did not agree. Eventually, they were all killed in the fighting, and Angelique herself was left severely injured and near death.

Embrace

Angelique was found in the chaos by a Toreador elder who had seen her dance in the days of the glittering Russian courts, and he Embraced her rather than see her talent go to waste. Afraid of further violence, the two fled the country, heading to Washington, DC as elders in the clan told them that the Toreador were poised to attempt to retake power for the clan there (a plan that, sadly, did not come to fruition as planned).

Alliance with the Tremere

Although the majority of her clan were engaged in attempting to topple the power wielded by the Tremere Prince Marissa, Angelique found her fascinating, and struck up a friendship that bloomed and kept her in high regard in the court until Marissa's surprising death a few years later. Believing that the new Prince, Marcus Vitel, had been in love with Marissa and was therefore trustworthy, Angelique supported his bid for power, even though various members of Clan Toreador were severely displeased by the interference of the Lasombra Prince.

Continuing her association with Clan Tremere, Angelique sought refuge with them when her sire was killed in the brief Sabbat takeover of the city, and has maintained close ties with them ever since. She began a romantic relationship with the Tremere Pontifex, and although both clans eye one another warily, in general they each consider this alliance an important one now that the two clans both aim to reassert power over the city and remove the Lasombra from their midst.
