The third level of humanity is often considered the "normal" one; that is, it represents about the morals that an average human being could be expected to have. Vampires at this level of humanity appear generally like human beings, although they still usually to have to hide their lack of bodily functions and avoid encounters with sensitive animals.

Most vampires at this level are a mix of trying to be good people while also trying to get by, so cheating, lying, and stealing are all on the table in moderation. They won't usually kill someone on purpose, but they might kill in self-defense; they probably won't rob a bank, but they still might shoplift something they want or need. Violence is unpleasant but sometimes necessary, and vampires at this level do their best to strike a balance between the two. They can be pushed into a Crisis of Conscience by severely injuring or killing someone, by intentionally oppressing others, or by betraying friends and loved ones.

The human-like morality of this level allows vampires to awaken as soon as the sun goes down, and to fall asleep again only when it rises. If a vampire at level 3 falls into torpor, their closer ties to the humanity they have now left allow them to awaken after only a week spent sleeping (provided they have the vitae to do so, of course).
